What mosters do Elemental BowStrings effect? - Guild Wars Forums

A topic very little seen anywhere.
I can take some guesses, but do the elemental strings really add extra damage?

Icy vs:
Hydras and
Imps and
?

Fiery vs:
Shiverpeaks (north and south) monsters and
?

Shocking vs:
Aloe Seeds and
Trees and
?

Ebon vs:
?

I thought it would be cool to build an xxxLongbow of Defense +5 for each of the Elemental Strings (I have Fiery, Icy, and Shocking complete), but I do not really know what to use them on to get that extra damage they are supposedly designed for.

I have also built specialty bows for other things:
- Zealous Shortbow of Defense +5 for quick short-range fighting
- Poisonous Flatbow of Marksmanship +1 for pulling (selective aggro) w/ apply poison
- Zealous Half Moon of Deathbane for Undead
- Elemental Longbows (3 built, 1 left) of Defense +5

(the Deathbane rocks against Ghouls, Skeletons, Hellhounds, etc...)
(the Zealous strings on shortbows allow me to be quick and not lose energy so I can keep the arrows juiced)
(PUG's love fighting the poisoned monsters I pulled, and I put a poison arrow into any monsters that come with the 'pulled' one)

My ideas above are based upon opposite elements (fire vs water, earth vs air). I also understand light and dark magic and that the Undead would be effected (extra) by Light magic, but what monsters in GW would be effected (extra) by Dark magic.

Does anyone care to try and fill-in the question marks (?) above, about the monsters 'extra' damage take based on their opposite element?

As far as I know...
fire vs plants
cold vs hydra (and titans, and fire imps, and undead lich)
lightning vs Avicara (or tengu)

Ebon is definitely the tough one.

I figure if we could get as many posts as possible, we can come to some sort of 'collective intelligence' on this topic.

Another thought - are these strings only meant for Ranger Elems that use the particular element, so Enchantment grips would be more effective?
